How I use AI in my own work

Last updated: 12 October 2026.

I advise firms on using AI in a way they can answer for, so here is how I use it myself.

Where I use it

  • Drafting and editing: articles, playbooks, proposals and parts of this website, including its design and code.
  • Research: finding and summarising sources, which I then read and check myself.
  • Admin: organising notes, plans and to-do lists.

The rules I follow

  • A person (me) reviews everything before it is published or reaches a client. I answer for the work, not the tool.
  • Client confidential or personal information never goes into AI tools that use it to train their models.
  • Numbers and quotes are checked against the original source and linked.
  • No AI makes decisions about you. This site has no chatbot, and nothing here is automated decision-making.

Tools

Mainly Claude, made by Anthropic, for writing, research, design and code. I will list any other AI tool I use regularly here.
